Hot Hot Heat (Well in Darwin at least)

So I've made it up here, to the opposite side of Australia.
Feeling really disorientated but getting better as I catch up on sleep and get to know my new colleagues. Tomorrow my first training tour begins. I will be on tour with passengers from tomorrow morning (Monday) for three weeks, two 11 day tours. I will be doing this tour on a 4 weekly rotation, and finish in Darwin with a 5 night break. My address in Darwin is: Unit 16, No. 3, Cardona Court, Darwin, 0800.
The pad here is really nice, complete with balcony, just eating pizza and wondering how it will go. V. exciting to see the Northern Territory. Lots of love, me x x x

On the Road Again

Hooray and sadness as I got the job as a cook/host guide with www.connectionsadventures.com. I fly to Darwin on Saturday morning to begin working as a host in the Northern Territory. A great opportunity to travel Oz for free, see the sights and food and accommodation included. It has all happened very quickly and will be a sad day when I leave as met some incredible friends here. Will post pictures shortly and try and be more efficient with this blog. Although Facebook is looking more and more like the new revolution x x x

The Melburnian Life

Backpackers sing the praises of St. Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne and they're right too. So cool and chaotic, lined with street cafe's, individual boutiques with names you wished you'd thought of e.g. Kinky Gerlinky

Since reaching a more (semi) permanent residence in the big smoke I have watched an Aussie Rules football game at the "G" (Melbourne Cricket Ground, no matter that this game was later reported as one of the most boring in decades due to the low scoring style of play. Funny how I picked up on this and didn't give the game my full attention.
Spent time re-creating English dishes including birthday spread complete with cornflake cakes and a tin foil hedgehog for Jen's birthday who I'm staying with. Soaking up art galleries, shopping and food in restaurants. Nice friends and fun places make me not want to leave this place just yet. I have a receptionist job now, a job in a delicious deli and an interview tomorrow for a youth guide for adventure holidays. Sorry blog has been lacking of late. If you read this and enjoy pls let me know
