Sipadan, Borneo

Sipadan- March 2009

A stilted village of wooden planks and jetties. Gapped pathways to the place where you rest your head and only have electricity at night. Unbelievable days of staring into an aquarium without walls. Never before thinking I’d be swimming towards a white tipped shark. “Hello picture" the village kids call from cactus gardens in old paint pots.

Life as a host

Summer, summer, summer time, summertime

The flies are coming to get me and the sandflies and the mosquitoes. I think it is very sexy to scratch yourself. The marsh fly is my new enemy or I fear he may become as he hovers and buzzes and choses to bite. How rude I say, how rude.

Meanwhile life on the road has involved slimming down my clothing into different bags only to purchase new delights. The new t-shirt emblazons "Surf like a girl" and I am still not living up to its claims or making them worthy.

Thank you, thank you for making my birthday the best one yet. I was without you but you sent me love on a global scale and (I resisted emphasising with a swear word at this point, still some English left in me) I MISS YOU!

Throwing myself out of a 'perfectly good plane' and bonafide Australian animals too, some of which won't kill you!!?

All Change

G'day again. Must apologise for lack of photos- myself and the technology don't get together often and when we do it doesn't always go to plan. I really want to paste some, got some crackers now as decided to photo everything and lose inhibitions. Well got some big news, am now going to be touring on the east coast between Sydney and Cairns, excited indeed.
Living the dream but can be strange with no permaneancy so please remind me you're alive out there friends and family, always in my heart. And its my birthday soon- 16th September, find its best not to be subtle about these things xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Pommie Sheila

G'day all

Arrived in Darwin yesterday for my time off in Darwin. End of my first tour sans training. Everything went really well, lots of good people on tour, food went down well and good feedback from the passengers. So enjoying a decent township that is Darwin, eating out and drinking and hitting the beauty salon. Really hot and nice appartment where I have been getting a 'sex and the city' fix.
So on Monday I set off again for the next 4 weeks heading south to Alice Springs, round Uluru and back up. After that I potentailly have 1 week off which I am excited about and hoping is definite. Can't believe how long I've been away and wondering when I'll set foot on the mother country again. Until that day been great hearing from you and lots of love x x x

Alice Springs

G'day!
Just said goodbye to my first tour group, which was strangely sad. Been a tough learning curve on the first tour but think its going to be lots of fun although scary and hardwork. Glad I'll be working with a cool driver as I serve up 3 course delights and book people on camel tours. Will post photos as soon as I can x x x
